Hidden gem in Flagstaff — stay for the bed, stay again for everything else After a brutal day of cross-country driving, I landed at Kings Motor Coach Lodge in Flagstaff, and let me just say: this place delivered in every way I needed. The staff was super helpful over the phone, setting me up with an after-hours check-in using a lockbox on my door. Smooth process, no hassle, and zero weirdness. Just kindness and clear instructions — exactly what you hope for when you’re running on fumes. Now, let’s talk about the real hero here: the bed. I’m not exaggerating when I say this was possibly the comfiest queen bed I’ve ever slept in at any motel — period. I’ve stayed at plenty of Motel 6s, Super 8s, and other budget stops during road trips, and they don’t even come close. This thing was cloud-tier comfort. I’m talking “forget the rest of the trip, I could live here” levels of rest. Firm but cozy, supportive but soft — the perfect end to a long drive. The room itself? No issues at all. Clean, quiet, and had everything I needed. But it’s the bed that sold me. Next time I’m passing through Flagstaff, I’m not even gonna compare — I’m going straight back to Kings. 5 stars, no question. This place deserves way more love than it probably gets.

We stayed here many times when it was an Econolodge. The location is central and the rooms have all been redone. And they’re nice. There were just a few things we had issues with;: 1. Under the new ownership the lobby and front desk close at 11pm and don’t reopen until 8am. Given how much we travel for business, we found this quite odd that there was no overnight staff. Plus the ice machine is in the lobby so if you need ice after 11pm and before 8am you’re S.O.L. 2. I don’t know what you’ve read here but the pillows are crap and the bath towels are small and thin. 3. The refrigerators don’t have a freezer area. 4. Housekeeping only comes if you’re staying more than 3 days. If you want service more often, you need to request it. I realize these seem minimal, but these are basic things you pay for in a hotel. They shouldn’t cheap out on basic amenities. On the positive side, the rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable enough and the bathroom is huge with great lighting. It was an inexpensive stay so for the money, it was fine.

This was a spontaneous family getaway, 2 aging adults with our pet Indy girl. The motel was on our route to the Grand Canyon, we had no reservations, last minute turn off to vacancy pet friendly sign. the front desk was knowledgeable on area and road numbers, nearby eateries. we notice tour buses and we understandably accepted 2nd level rooms. The price was budget friendly too. except train horns after 2 am but still restful. Clean rooms.

Nice and helpful manager! I wish I could have gone to the brewfest she mentioned, but time didn’t permit on this trip. Maybe next time…. Room was clean and the property was quiet despite a huge bus of French students pouring in. Thanks!

A recently renovated property that is a great value. This is a traditional American travel motel. It’s a little noisy because it is right on historic Route 66 and across from the railroad. But the staff are friendly, the rooms are nice and clean, the beds comfy. And, did I mention the great price?
